Greek Yacht Cruises to Argosaronic Gulf and Cyclades Islands
Tips for first time cruisers
Welcome to the Wonderful World of Cruising
Planning your very first yacht cruise should be almost as exciting
as the yacht cruise itself. May we help with some of the details
to make this first yacht cruise everything you've ever dreamed!

Greece, with its 2,000 islands and over 250,000 kilometers of coastline provides excellent grounds for sailing. There is room to create many yacht cruise itineraries of high interest. We offer two cruises, and we will try to help you to choose from:

Argosaronic Gulf:
The Saronic Islands and surrounding coast of Peloponnese. This area is well sheltered and suitable for the first time sailors. There are no surprises with the weather and the islands to visit: Aegina, Poros, Hydra, and Spetses are close enough to one another so the itinerary is more comfortable.
Cyclades:
With Delos Islands in the center, Cyclades form a cycle in the middle of the Aegean Sea. Beautiful islands to visit but in much more open sea environment. July and August, the local "meltemi" north winds make it sometimes uncomfortable for the sailors. We decided to do this cruise one-way trip starting from Lavrion (close to Cape Sounion) and we included the cosmopolitan and beautiful Myconos, ending to romantic Santorini. If you have some sailing experience, this is a more exciting cruise with a lot of interest.

Read the itineraries well and once you have decided which one you will take, the next decision is when. The spring months of April, May, and June are suitable for those that don't like the hot temperatures of summer and the winds are moderate.

July and August are the hot summer months but still with comfortable temperatures because of the Aegean breeze and the winds are stronger, mainly from the north. Ideal conditions for the experienced sailor who is looking for a little excitement.

September and October are milder months in temperature and winds.

What to bring
  • Documents: In addition to your cruise documents, your valid passport and one more picture ID.
  • Payments on board: We will "run a tab" on board the yacht for bar purchases, soft drinks, and outgoing telephone calls, which you can settle by credit card, travelers check, or cash at the end of your cruise. YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO CASH PERSONAL CHECKS.
  • Telephone calls: All incoming calls are free, you will be charged the outgoing calls you wish to make, or you have the option to purchase your own calling card and use the yacht's cellular telephone.
  • Tipping the crew: The quality of service you receive should dictate the gratuity. As a guideline, we suggest an average of 5-10% of the charter cost.
  • Luggage: Duffle bags or other forms of soft luggage.
  • Shoes: Soft, rubber-soled shoes, or sandals.
  • Medication: Specific medication used by charterers should be brought along in sufficient quantity for the total trip.
  • Suntan lotion: Light, skin-absorbing lotions and creams are preferred. Avoid oily, greasy substances that can be dangerously slippery.
  • Clothing: Casual, comfortable clothing is best for everyday cruising. A dress-up outfit may be useful for special visits and entertaining. Include shorts, T-shirts, bathing suits, light cotton jeans and shirts, and, depending on the season, a light windbreaker and sweater.
  • Audio Cassettes: Cassette players are standard on virtually every yacht. Bring your favorite cassettes to assure the music you prefer.
