Endless Summer II has proved itself over the years to be one of the top charter yachts in the Caribbean. Our repeat charter statistics bear testament to this. Our crews are the single most important contribution to this success. They are chosen, for their personalities, catering and sailing qualities.

Jamie Roberts
Jamie is 25 years old and a native of Vancouver, Canada. If he has a certain surfer look to him, it simply accounts for one of his passions. Leaving high school in '96 he traveled to Fiji, the Cook Islands and Hawaii as part of a Baha'i dance group, working with children in remote communities. When the group returned to Canada, Jamie stayed behind for a winter of surfing in Oahu. He spent the following summer working at the Queen Charlotte lodge, an exclusive sport fishing resort in the Queen Charlotte Islands, nr Vancouver. By September, his parents, who were determined to see him go to college, offered him the chance to move to the BVI. He became the first international student to enroll full time at the BVI Community College studying marine biology. Racing aboard the college sailboat in Foxy's renowned Wooden Boat Regatta, was his first real island sailing experience. After a year, he returned to college in Vancouver for further studies with the certainty that the BVI would be revisited. Indeed, by the end of '99, Jamie was back and soon after joined Endless Summer II as first mate.
In the summer of 2002, Jamie went to England to study for his captains licence. He returned to Endless Summer II with a full RYA yachtmaster certificate and we are proud to have him back aboard now as captain. Discovering the BVI with Jamie as your guide is a real delight. You find yourself saying, "Is there anyone Jamie doesn't know?" He loves island life, music (Reggae and Hip hop) and mixing with people of all nationalities.

Leanne Pohlmann
Leanne is 29 years old and grew up in East London, South Africa. She graduated, with a BA in Commerce, from the University of Stellensboch, Cape Town, in 1991. With a strong desire to travel and a love of adventure, she left South Africa with her sister on an extended back packing vacation. They traveled through most of western Europe and then Israel, where they picked tomatoes in Moshav, and Egypt, where they visited the Pyramids. Family ties took her back to South Africa in 1993 where she got a "proper job" in a bank. Soon after being promoted to manager, she was again bitten by the travel bug and set off for the USA where she was a swim coach and lifeguard at a New York state summer camp for 7-16 year olds. Following an extensive tour of the States, including the Grand Canyon and Las Vegas, she left for England where she worked as a bar maid in a typical London pub. |

Early 1996 saw Leanne traveling with a friend through SE Asia, Australia, New Zealand and back home. In Cape Town she joined a travel agency that specialized in travel packages throughout Africa. She was appointed Operations Manager and it was her motivating force that ensured a growth in the business. However, wanderlust and a growing interest in cooking, got the better of her and in November 1999 Leanne flew to Verbier in Switzerland, a world renowned ski resort, where she worked as a chalet hostess and cook under the renowned South African chef, Fred Brett Kaufmann. At the end of the ski season, she arrived in the British Virgin Islands where she became a freelance charter yacht cook. In the summer of 2000 she visited Peru, Bolivia and Chile before returning to the BVI to join Endless Summer II as chef. |

Leanne has a cheerful zest for life. She enjoys all outdoor pursuits including SCUBA diving (she is a PADI advanced diver), skiing, mountain biking and all extreme sports, such a sky diving and bungee jumping. As you can see, Leanne's traveling has been extensive and with it an exposure to many different cultures. Her culinary experiences are reflected in the varied dishes she presents on Endless Summer II. |
