Sunshine, wine and smart design!
Little needs to be said about a country as well known as Italy. But, who would think that there were corners of this well-traveled country that relatively few have visited? One doesn't think of islands when thinking of Italy but off Italy's lovely coast are five island groups, which deserve visiting. For Americans this is new, exciting cruising ground filled with lush Mediterranean vegetation, intriguing historical towns where time has stopped, significant historical and archaeological remains, a volcano, romantic deserted coves and bays and, last but not least, you can also indulge in the more elementary pleasures of enjoying good food and wine, improving your wardrobe and seeking out la dolce vita.
Sailing along the Italian coasts means to follow the footsteps of Ulisse, the Homeric hero, there are romantic medieval towns, such as Ischia, and unspoilt fishing villages, like the unforgettable Positano on the Amalfi coast. Visit vineyards and cellars to taste the very best regional wines. And to really get away from it all, sail to the islands of Sicily or Sardinia to experience rural hospitality in the blissful Mediterranean.
Italy: still so much more to discover.
