Day 1: Portisco - Cala di Volpe - Cala di Volpe is a deep shallow bay, well protected from the Mistral wind and is surrounded by beautiful sandy beaches. Porto Cervo - On Sardinia's rugged Costa Smeralda eastern shore, the Aga Khan built a resort that took full advantage of the rocky cliffs, protected beaches and stunning blue sea. Since then, the region has become one of the world's most exclusive retreats. In town, the Stella Maris Church boasts the 'Sad Madonna' painted by El Greco. Cannigione - Cannigione offers an excellent range of restaurants, catering to locals and visitors alike, and there's a decent array of shops, ranging from grocery stores to tempting art and crafts shops. Either side of the harbour, there are fine, sheltered sandy beaches.

Day 2: Cannigione - Palau With its gently shelving sandy beaches, comprehensive range of shops and wide selection of restaurants, the bustling harbour town of Palau offers visitors plenty of variety.

Day 3:
Palau - Budelli- Budelli is famous for its rose-coloured beaches Santa Maria - The characteristics of the town are the green of its grand trees, but above all the ancient olive trees that colour the piazza and the slopes that rise up from the sea interrupted by the white of the church dating back to 1050 which seems was built by the Princess of Navarra (from whom the town takes its name) and from the imposing grey of the Spanish Tower guarding the bay and the beach. Razzoli - Bonifacio The oldest town of Corsica. For a thousand years or more, the citadel of Bonifacio has defied gravity from her high perch on the edge of a chalk peninsular that guards the southernmost tip of the island.

This is a sample itinerary. You have many choices of router and anchorages, or you may want to linger at favorite places. Our Charter Coordinators and base staff are happy to help you plan your ideal cruise.

In the middle of the Mediterranean there is the paradise island of Sardinia.

Come with us on a journey along its coast, sail and swim in its emerald green sea. Learn about its 4000 year history, its customs, traditions, costumes and festivals. Visit its archeological and architectural treasures. Taste its mouth watering foods and excellent wines. Discover the beautiful island of Sardinia, with its Mediterranean climate and unspoilt beaches, where the sun shines bright and hot for more than eight months a year.

Our Portisco base is located in the beautiful "Costa Smeralda" (Emerald Coast), between Porto Cervo and Porto Rotondo, only 10 minutes from Olbia Airport. Marina di Portisco, which is a natural green cove, is ideal for sailing tourism and it offers a variety of services in a warm and hospitable enviroment.

Departing Portisco, you can sail to a large number of destinations: Madalena Archipelago is a natural park of unique beaches, among them the famous pink beach in Budelli. The wild Corsica lies on the other side of the Bocche di Bonifacio. Sail the northern coast of Sardinia as far as the beautiful and untouched island of Asimara and the eastern coast as far as the gulf of Osorei, which is the preferred habitat of the last popupations of Foca monaca (monk seal).

Carloforte is the only populated area in San Pietro island, part of the Sulcitano Archipelago, which consists of small islands and islets on the southwest of Sardinia. The island's irregural coasts offer many amazing natural landings. In these uncontaminated places it is still possible to witness "la mattanza", the old fashioned way of tuna fishing. Our yachts are moored in the harbour of Carloforte that intergrates with the town.

From Carloforte you can follow two main routes, one along the western coast of Sardinia as far as Stintino and one along the southern coast as far as Villasimius. Each route offers various different options, ideal for both those who seek untouched corners of nature with cobalt and turquoise waters, and those who prefer a fashionalbe vacation.. You can hardly find such variety anywhere else. Roman and Phoenix ruins of the towns of Nora and Tharros lie among exotic vegetation, romantic coves and well supplied shorelines. Being a cultural and geographical bridge to North Africa, Carloforte is also the ideal starting point to Tunisia, which is only 110 miles away.

Wind and Weather
As far as the climate both bases enjoy the typical Mediterranean weather, uncommon to middle latitudes with an average temperature without remarkable variations during the year, which makes the conditions for sailing ideal for a 9 month period (March to November).
Regarding the winds, you will find a sea breeze from NW in the western coast (force 4), while on the southern coast the breeze comes from SE (force 3). The strongest winds in the northern and western coasts come from N-NW.
