The scent of wild herbs mingles with the aroma of olive trees, orange groves, vineyards, and flowers to produce a Corsican perfume that can be detected even at sea.

This is the land of sunshine and dreamy summer afternoons, where the days never end and nights are cooled by breezes perfumed with sage, rosemary, and thyme.

Maquis
is the scrubland that abounds on Corsica. A calanque is a natural harbor lying in a cleft in the high hills of the coast- safe havens for sailors since ancient times and dramatically beautiful. You'll find picturesque villages, crystal-clear water, and your choice of splendid cruising itineraries. Sail the east coast of Corsica, with its ancient towns and cathedrals; circumnavigate the island; or visit Italy's Tuscan Islands. Corsican food is excellent. What else would you expect from a French island of the coast of Italy? The wines are solid and colorful. The smoked ham, salamis, and sausages are spicy and delicious. Fish and shellfish are abundant. There is excellent cruising in Corsica May through September, with sunny, warm, dry weather. Winds are variable throughout the season.

AjaccioAjaccio
Leaning at the side of the most beautiful gulf of the world, under the look of the touching Iles Sanguinaires, the elegant Ajaccio, strong by the beauty and the fame that gods and some of its sons, knows with a nonchalance full of humor and of sensivity how to charm its visitors.

These ones will not regret to have sauntered in its old streets which are all full of the memory of Napoleon Bonaparte, in its markets with the colors of the countryside, or to have visited its churches, its cathedral, its imperial chapel or the small A Bandera museum to know a little more about Corsica.

Wind and Weather
The summer months are dry and delightful in the Med. Temperatures range from the high 70’s in May and September to the 80’s in June, July, and August. Winds here haveromantic-sounding names and vary in strength and direction. Yo
