The
sun shines with Dutch punctuality and West Indian sparkle. The trades
are steady and constant. And the food-c'est magnifique.
There are two bases on St. Martin - Oyster Pond or Anse marcel
- and find a whirlwind tour of many cultures and cuisines with an easy
week's sail. On St. Martin/St. Maarten, the old world of France
and the Netherlands mingles gracefully with the New World of the West
Indies. The Creole villages of marigot and Grande Case abound
with four star restaurants and intimate cafes, baquettes
and croissants, fine wines, art galleries, and chic,direct-from-Paris
boutiques. Dutch Philisburg offers unsurpassed duty-free shopping,
nightclubs, and casinos.
You'll thrill to exhilarating sailing aboard your sleek charter yacht,
discover dozens of sparkling, secluded beaches (some clothes-optional-
naturellement), and toast the sunset in one memorable anchorage after
another. A short sail takes you St. Barts, the St. Tropez of
the Caribbean. Jazz and cognac, wine and laughter, and the best dancing
in the Caribbean-that' St. Barts. Fill a basket with wine, cheese,
and a fresh baquette. You'll look stylish, and you'll fit right
in.

For a complete change of pace, sail to Anguilla and experience
the Caribbean at its unspoiled best. Anguilla is a pristine island ,
with charming villages, serene harbors, uncrowded stretches of powdery
white beach, and a great selection of excellent restaurants. If you
prefer to dine aboard, local fishermen sell the day's catch on the beach
at Roadtown. Anchor for the day at the Prickly Pear Cays, deserted islands
with dazzling beaches and incomparable snorkeling. Swim amid a riot
of multicolored fish and brilliant coral. You'll wonder
why it's taken you so long to discover Anguilla.
WIND

northeast at 20 to 25 knots. Christmas winds, which blow from December
through February, can be as high as 30 to 35 knots. By June, winds have
